[Abraham Lincoln/Ulysses S. Grant]: Official White House China. 7.5" dessert plate in the Solferino pattern, originally ordered for the Lincoln White House, under the supervision of Mary Todd Lincoln. The Lincoln plates were not marked. The service was later reordered by Ulysses S. Grant and Chester Alan Arthur. See illustration #29 on page 82 of Klapthor's Official White House China. Beautiful condition.Marked on verso by the Washington, D.C. retailer J. W. Boteler & Brothers.
