    Description

Zachary Taylor: Portrait Poster. Titled "Major General Zachary Taylor," this poster was published May of 1847 "[b]y A. Hoffy, under the immediate superintendence & directions of the undersigned Officers, from an original Sketch, taken from life at Camargo by Captain Eaton, A.D.C." Beneath the portrait of Taylor in military attire are multiple facsimile endorsements and signatures of those that "consider the above a good likeness." A horizontal crease is present across the center from edge to edge. There is some tearing throughout with minor warping from dampstaining at the top half. A small stain is present on the "Z" of Taylor's first name. Housed in an attractive frame that appears to be a burl wood, the overall size is 13.625" x 21.75" and the sight size of 11.75" x 19.625". This piece is in good condition and would look great on display.
