[Abraham Lincoln]: Anti-McClellan Currier & Ives Cartoon. 13.5" x 18" lithograph published in 1864, titled: "The Political 'Siamese' Twins/ The Offspring of Chicago Miscegenation." (a reference to Cheng & Eng). McClellan is tied to his running mate, Pendleton, a peace candidate opposed to prosecution of the war. Two Union soldiers reluctantly abandon their former commander and pledge to vote for Uncle Abe. The sponsors of the Chicago platform, Vallandigham and Seymour, look on in approval. Light damp stain at top (easily cleaned) with two minor border tears and corner pinholes.
