DescriptionVotes for Women: Rose O'Neill Kewpie Poster, Perhaps the Most Sought-After of All Woman's Suffrage Items. There are no collectors more dedicated and determined than those who specialize in Woman's Suffrage. Yet, decades of relentless searching have failed to turn up another example of this wonderful large 29.5" x 46.5" display piece. These sassy little characters created by artist, Rose O'Neill in 1911 could be found everywhere in the early days of the 20th century, appearing on advertising, post cards and in store windows, never failing to engender a smile. Small wonder that the National Woman's Suffrage Publishing Company sought permission to use this signed O'Neill artwork on their poster. Printed on heavy stock, it is in excellent condition, with some trivial light surface wrinkling. The lower right hand corner has been clipped and the poster is framed against a board painted to fill in the missing border. Pictured in Arthur Schlesinger's Running for President: The Candidates and Their Images. 1900-1992, p. 103. The poster is one of the Frent's favorite items in the collection and justifiably so.
Note: Since cataloging this item we have learned that one other example is known. However it is still a profound rarity, and considered by Suffrage collectors to be the best poster in that category.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
