    Description

Spectacular English Suffrage Art Poster. Paper, 24" x 39", printed by Weiners of Acton [England], published by Brighton and Hove and the Women's Franchise Society. This beautiful art poster features a woman standing next to the allegorical figure of justice, who is holding scales, and it contains the legend "Justice Demands the Vote." This colorful poster has never appeared previously in an American auction. It contains full borders. There are some marginal chips and tears at the edges and a small piece is missing in the lower right corner. A Yale University library stamp dated August 29, 1911 appears lightly in the upper right hand corner. The poster has been repaired and is linen backed. A wonderful and rare poster.
