    Description

McKinley & Hobart Campaign Poster titled "OUR HOME DEFENDERS". This wonderful 1896 color poster offers voters the choice between Republican prosperity via protective tariffs or Democratic ruin via free trade. Vignettes illustrating the alternatives appear in the upper register of the piece, while the lower half of the poster projects the value of various commodities under Republican versus Democratic administrations. The whole is tied together, of course, with large, striking portraits of McKinley and Hobart. Very light aging as expected. The upper and lower left corners have some paper loss. 15.5" x 21.75", professionally matted and framed to an overall 25" x 31".
