Abraham Lincoln: 1860 Campaign Advertisement Broadside. 10 1/2" x 17" broadside advertising J. Russell Spalding's Rosemary hair dressing. All the Presidents through Buchanan are depicted. Issued in 1860, the Boston maker of this dubious product couldn't resist a pitch aimed at his Republican customers. The added "topical" text near the bottom is just so precious we have to reprint it, in full: "Old Abe Lincoln. Our next President must soon have his head in the group above. All of the Past Presidents Heads are good - And if he expects to keep up with his predecessors, it would be well for him to dress his hair with Rosemary; he could split Rails - Rosemary never split hairs - To all Douglas, Breckinridge and Bell Men, we would advise if they are troubled with the Headache, there is nothing better." Some folds and wrinkling. After the election, this advertisement would have to be amended to reflect Lincoln's addition of a beard. No doubt, Rosemary Hair Dressing worked on beards, as well!

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
