    Polk & Dallas: Jugate Inauguration Ball Invitation. Highly-elusive 5" x 7.75" engraved bifolium invitation for the "Democratic Inauguration Ball" held at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. on March 4, 1845. The managers include James Buchanan, John Hale and George Catlin. Engraved by J. V. N. Throop of Washington. Some light aging and spotting, but very fine overall. Normal folds. A Lone Star signifying Texas appears near the top. We don't recall any previous auction appearances.
