Polk & Dallas: Key 1844 Jugate Ribbon Rarity. Polk is, of course, a notoriously tough candidate, and this large jugate ribbon is always highly sought after. The present example has some condition problems, but, as the photo indicates, they sound worse on paper than they look "in person". There are two partial horizontal separations, one at the very top and another near the bottom, none of which affect design elements. Several minor small edge tears are similarly unobtrusive. There is a light staining in the center, a couple of smaller stain marks, and light even overall soiling. Still, a very presentable copy. Complete original selvage across top and bottom. 2.875" x 8.75".
