    Description

William McKinley: The Classic "Factory Pin" Rarity. In the 1900 campaign the Republicans celebrated the country's recent prosperity, in contrast with the economic turbulence that characterized the second term of his Democratic predecessor Grover Cleveland. This great 2¼" button design features two prominent GOP symbols of that year, a busy factory superimposed on a full dinner bucket which represented full employment. "Do you smoke", it asks the factory. "Yes, since 1896!" is the reply. "That's what McKinley promised". Excellent condition, and a hard variety to find so. Diameter 2 1/8".
