    Description

Theodore Roosevelt: Possibly Unique World's Fair Jugate. This ¾" celluloid button pictures Lincoln, James Monroe, Theodore Roosevelt, and Charles Fairbanks. Each image is superimposed on a gold leaf. Based upon the colors and design, we feel this may have a tie-in with the 1904 World's Fair held in St. Louis. In addition, Lincoln is shown as the exemplar of Republican leaders and Monroe as the guiding light behind the policy of U.S. expansion. There are a few very faint fox marks along the bottom edge, but it is in excellent overall condition. We sold a 1" version of this button, also from the Vlk collection, in 2009.
