MAGNIFICENT 2 1/8" TEDDY ROOSEVELT BUTTON FROM 1904 WORLD'S FAIR. We have never seen this elaborate large design before with pictures of Napoleon, JKafferson, McKinley and TR. Below Napoleon it reads "Sold", below Jefferson, "Purchased", below McKinley, "Signed Fair Bill", and below Roosevelt, "Inaugurated"! Ribbon with Fair motifs in gold suspended below as shown. Condition is excellent (note: what appears to be a spot at 2:30 is actually in the photograph used to manufacture the button. It actually seems to be a projection from an adjoining design on the original photo sheet.) This piece comes from the Dr. Joseph Vacca 1904 World's Fair collection, and of course will be of great interest to World's Fair collectors. However, we felt it was more important as an unlisted TR button, so we have placed it in the political section.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
