John W. Davis: A Dramatic 4" Celluloid for the 1924 Democratic Candidate. Davis was a sure loser against the popular Calvin Coolidge, and perhaps for that reason comparatively few campaign novelties were made to support him. This impressive large item makes a great centerpiece for a Davis or a 1924 election collection, and has always been a collector favorite.

Both this variety and its Coolidge mate (also offered in this auction) have a tendency to come with surface bumps, sometimes numerous. This example, thankfully, is completely free of that affliction. It does have several fine scratches, but to our taste this is more than outweighed by the smooth surface. Original cardboard easel on verso, often missing, is intact and in excellent condition.
