DescriptionHarry S. Truman: The Iconic 2¼-inch "Sixty Million Working" 1948 Campaign Button. Like some poster design with the same slogan, this button sought to capitalize on the country's post-WW II prosperity to promote Truman's election as president in his own right. Probably issued only as samples, as fewer than 10 examples are known, and several of those exhibit condition problems.
This design is universally regarded as the premier Truman button variety, and considered by many to be the top button design of the post-1920s era. Heritage has offered only one example in choice condition, selling at $19,717.50 in our August 5th, 2008 auction. The Berman example is choice and perfectly centered, an unimprovable copy.
