    Description

Douglas A. MacArthur: Most Desirable Hopeful Button Made in Occupied Japan. Seldom-seen 2 5/8" button with filled back, featuring military portrait of MacArthur, titled "MacArthur for President". It has some Japanese letters and the words "Tokyo Japan" at the bottom. Likely issued in 1948, whether officially or not, during Mac's tenure as Military Governor of occupied Japan. Very few of these are known and most suffer from condition issues. This has some lamination imperfections and scattered foxing, mostly confined to the perimeter. It is above average for the type and most presentable.
