Description

Cox-Roosevelt and Harding-Coolidge 1920 Jugate Buttons: A Unique Matched Pair. This classic Whitehead & Hoag design was produced in three sizes: 5/8", 7/8" and 1¼". These are the 5/8" versions, and in pristine condition. The 5/8" size offers certain aesthetic advantages in that is utilizes the same photo as the 7/8" versions, but the smaller size presents a deeper, richer color and somewhat sharper portraits.

Perhaps as many as four or five other Cox-Roosevelts are known in this size, but this is the only Harding-Coolidge of which we are aware, making this what could well be the only attainable matched pair. This is the same pair sold by Heritage in our May 2013 Americana and Political auction, where they sold for $33,400. In this gorgeous condition they present a great opportunity for the advanced celluloid collector.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
