Coolidge & Dawes: A Dramatic, Colorful 6" Celluloid Jugate. One of the most sought-after jugates of the 1920s era, this makes a great centerpiece for any Coolidge collection. In top condition these consistently sell in the $8-10,000 range, and are well worth it. The present example has an unusual spider-web of fine wrinkles, for want of a better term, over the entire face of the button. However, these are not cracks; the celluloid surface is unbroken. Two very minor chips, one at 4:30 and one at 8:30 near edge. Minor flat spot on edge at 4:00. Still lots of display appeal.

It is a tribute to the rarity and desirability of this design that Merrill Berman, a very condition-conscious collector, added this example to his collection, and was presumably unable to upgrade it. When Berman was collecting most actively in the 1970s, only several examples were known. Today the population in collections has grown to a dozen or so as new examples have surfaced.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
