TWO OUTSTANDING WILLIAM H. TAFT PHOTOS, ONE AT A BASEBALL GAME. The first is a 6 ½" by 4 ¼" scene of Taft in the stands at baseball game. Apparently, he is with some fellow Yale alumni, as they are wearing "Yale" badges. 1909 dated. ( Taft was a great baseball fan and there is a well known image of him throwing out the 1st baseball for the 1909 42 season.) Pencil notation on the back, which reads " President Taft at Expo Park 1909 Playing N.Y." Photo excellent with some staining and flaking on the mat board. The other photo is much larger, a high quality silver gelatin print, 13 by 10 ½". It shows Taft clearly as President standing with military and government dignitaries at an unidentified location. Banners and a large display with an eagle graphic hangs above the assemblage. A beautiful image in choice condition, in original frame (# This item may require additional shipping charges).
