Thomas Jefferson: An Unusual Circa 1860 Ruby Ambrotype of an Engraved Portrait. The engraving features an image of Jefferson in his prime with his name and some biographical information below. There is scattered overall bubbling of the emulsion, and several small areas where the emulsion is missing. It is housed in a most unusual Foulks & Cooper thermoplastic case with a high relief, cameo-like classical profile in the center of the front cover. One trivial edge chip, otherwise beautiful condition. From the collection of Stanley King. Dimensions: 3.25" x 4.25" (ambrotype only). Open case dimensions: 8" x 4.75".
