Joseph P. Kennedy: Extensive Archive. Joseph P. Kennedy, JFK's father, is well-represented in this lot. It has eleven letters signed by him, a letter signed by his secretary and a Latin scholastic award pin given to him in high school. The pin is about 1" tall. It is accompanied by copies of a portrait of him, circa 1908, where he is wearing the pin. He attended Boston Latin School that year. The letters, save one, are written to his sister Loretta and are all signed Joe. The one exception is a 1916 letter written by Kennedy to his parents from Pinehurst, discussing Rose and the baby. The other letters date from 1934 to 1958. There are letters dealing with the Adlai Stevenson campaign of 1952. In a 1953 letter, Kennedy discusses JFK's wedding: "...this wedding is one job I would be glad to keep away from. I don't know how you handled your own so well. It's tougher than any of my other ventures." There is also an envelope mailed from Britain in 1939 and signed by Kennedy as Ambassador to England. In a 1952 letter, he talks about "launching Jack's campaign." There are also two telegrams from the 1950's. A letter of provenance from the family accompanies the lot.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
