United States District Court, District of Texas. It reads in part, "...The President of the United States of America, to the Marshal or Any of His Lawful Deputies of the District of Texas, Greeting: You are hereby commanded to summon [Morgan L. Parry and James Love]...City of Galveston, this [23rd] day of [May] A. D., 18[50]...." Signed by Clerk James Love at bottom of page one. Legal summons issued on behalf of John G. Watrous, U.S. District Judge for the District of Texas, who was charged with corruption and malfeasance and had the longest pending impeachment proceeding in U.S. judicial history.
