    Description

Civil War Magic Lantern Slides: Andrew Johnson, General Winfield Scott, and House Speaker and Future Vice President Schuyler Colfax. These colorful glass slides make fine display items, especially as presented in an expensive, electrified showbox display. The Johnson is the prize here, since so few collectable period items are to be found for that unfortunate president. The Johnson still bears its original Revenue Stamp dated April 29, 1865, a bare two weeks after Johnson assumed office. All three slides are in great condition. The display measures 11.5 x 19".
