Abraham Lincoln: Funeral Broadsides. 1) 6" x 18.5" broadside titled "Funeral Honors to the Late President." Issued for the April 20, 1865 procession held in Philadelphia. Minor partial split at central fold, else clean and bright. 2) 5.25" x 15" broadside titled "Order of Exercises for the Public Funeral Ceremonies of Abraham Lincoln, Late President of the United States to Take Place at Rochester, April 19, 1865." Damp and ink stains, normal folds, some minor loss. From the collection of Dr. Michael Krane.

N.B. Additional research leads us to believe the Philadelphia broadside was actually issued on April 20, 1840 for the funeral of William Henry Harrison.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
