(1) Titled, "To The Memory Of Abraham Lincoln," this piece measures 6.75" x 11.375" with flattering verses pertaining to Lincoln's character leading to the bottom where it says, "The Name and Memory Of Abraham Lincoln." (2) This invitation to participate in the "Obsequies of the late President Lincoln..." was sent from the Select Council Chamber marked Philadelphia, April 21st, 1865. The smallest of the three, it measures 4.75" x 7.25". (3) From the Office of the National Lincoln Monument Association, this document is dated June 1865 and is from Springfield, requesting funds to help erect a National Monument "over the remains of our lamented President." The name Clinton L. Conkling, Sec/y of the National Lincoln Monument Association can be seen at the bottom. It measures 5.125" x 8". The note from the Select Council Chamber has minor toning and foxing. The note from the National Lincoln Monument Association has text written in ink on the back with some toning. The commemorative document is the most fragile, with a small hole above the center accompanied by minor damp staining. Foxing and toning present, particularly at right edge. Overall, good condition for their age. A great grouping for display.
