Lincoln & Johnson: Rare Jugate Songster. 3 7/8" x 6 1/8" song book titled "The Lincoln and Johnson Union Campaign Songster", M-322, Philadelphia, A. Winch, 54 pages in pictorial wraps. Disbound, covers tastefully repaired and reattached near joints. The name of the original owner, Conrad Moore, appears in faint purple ink on the cover. Moore, perhaps disillusioned with Johnson's performance as Lincoln's successor, crossed off his name and likewise defaced his portrait. An effort to erase his graffiti has been partially successful. A tight copy. Considered the premier Lincoln campaign songster, it is only the third example we are aware of.
