Large Sterling Silver Cigar Box Engraved "LBJ", Benefiting Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. This very impressive cigar box is decorated with a large Aztec calendar flanked by two Aztec warriors. The sides are bordered in a traditional Aztec motif. The front panel is engraved with, "L.B.J.". The box measures 8-inches by 5-inches and stands 3.5-inches high. It weighs approximately 950 grams. The box was made by Joyeria Real of Mexico and marked with the company hallmark and "Sterling". The box is missing the Mexican silver purity hallmark which dates it as being made prior to 1948. The Johnsons first went to Mexico together on their honeymoon in November, 1934 and returned there frequently. A fine personal item owned by Lyndon Johnson early in his career. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Lynda Johnson Robb.

A full 100% of the net proceeds will benefit the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at the University of Texas at Austin, in honor of the 2012 Centennial of Lady Bird Johnson's birth.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
