    Description

John W. Davis: Fantastic West Virginia Club Button. This 1 1/4" real photo picture pin for West Virginia native son John W. Davis is certainly one of the top three Davis picture pins. We believe there was a stained example in the Perlin Collection offered decades ago (issued for Littetown, W.V.).This one reads: "The John W. Davis for President Club. Hundred, W. Va." They probably named that town "Hundred" because there were no more than 100 people who lived there! No wonder this is such a rare pin! There is some lightness to the left side of the pin, likely as made, typical of sepia real photo buttons produced at this time. This one grades excellent to near-mint. It has a St. Louis Button Company back paper.
