John F. Kennedy: White House Oval Office Desk Blotter. Personally owned by the president, this knobbed, black-glazed wood, hand roller blotter measures 6.25" x 3". In so many ways a modern man, President John F. Kennedy enjoyed writing with an old-fashioned fountain pen, thus, the necessity of a blotter with blotting paper. Here is the knobbed, black-glazed wood, hand roller blotter he used at his desk in the Oval Office of the White House. The bottom of the blotter has a layer of grey felt followed by a stack of blotting paper stretched across the bottom and held secure by two slits on either side of the top of the blotter. Each morning a new sheet of blotter paper replaced the one used the previous day. Accompanied by a photograph of the president in the Oval Office with the blotter on his desk with a letter of authenticity from Evelyn Lincoln, Personal Secretary to the President. Fine condition. From the Robert L. White Collection.

From the collection of Dr. Dean Rudoy.
