John F. Kennedy : Oval Office Silver Cigarette Box by Tiffany. Beautiful sterling silver cigarette box used in the oval office during the presidency of John F. Kennedy. The Presidential Seal is engraved on the lid. The bottom is stamped: "Tiffany & Co. Makers Sterling 23093". It comes in the original Tiffany & Company pasteboard box. It measures 7.5" x 3.25" x 2". The interior has two cedar-lined compartments. It is accompanied by a notarized statement on White House stationery, dated July 13, 1992, from the former owner, "Martin E. Underwood, Special Assistant to Presidents JFK & LBJ". He explains that the box was used in the Oval Office and was removed with other personal belongings after the assassination in order to facilitate the transition to President Johnson. It was stored in his office in the Executive Office Building and eventually gifted to him by Kenny O'Donnell and Charles Rotchford, head of the General Services Administration. Underwood sold the piece to noted Kennedy collector Robert L. White.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
