    Description

    John F. Kennedy: June 15, 1947 Speech Dealing With Jewish Contributions to the War Effort and Beyond. Six-page carbon copy of a speech by JFK, each page on "Congress of the United States/ John F. Kennedy/ 11th Dist. Massachusetts" letterhead. The speech talks about the flag, Jews who have played an extraordinary part in war and peace to protect that flag, Palestine, the Balfour Declaration and related subjects. He also talks about Rabbi Roland Gittleson, Chaplain of the 5th Marine Division who dedicated the cemetery at Iwo Jima in April 1945. Possibly the only copy extant.
