    Description

John F. Kennedy: Another Fine Louis Lupas Portrait Dated 1961. Mixed media on light gray textured paper, this black and white image brilliantly captures the seriousness and also the hopeful enthusiasm of the newly-elected young president. As noted in our description of the adjacent lot, JFK sat for Lupas in the White House, and the resulting images are some of the very best artists' depictions of Kennedy.

Heritage sold a similar black and white Lupas portrait in our February 2004 Illustration Art auction, where it brought $8625. However, we find the present example to be a more appealing image. 18" x 24", nicely custom-framed to 27" x 34".

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
