Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy: Her 1950s Passport. Originally issued on May 20th, 1953 in her maiden name Jacqueline Lee Bouvier, it was later amended on August 13, 1954, changing her last name to Kennedy and is the only existing passport of hers known to be held privately.

It was signed in full, and her address "Merrywood," McLean, Virginia is printed in her hand. She has also filled out the portion listing who should be contacted in the event of accident or death, her mother, Mrs. H. D. Auchincloss, at the same address. Merrywood was the estate of Jacqueline's step-father, Standard Oil heir, Hugh Auchincloss.

Customs stamps indicate that the passport was used for various trips from 1953-56 for trips to France, Italy and Great Britain. One of her noteworthy trips took place in 1953 when as a photographer she traveled to London to cover the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

The passport, measuring 3.75" x 6.125", is in excellent condition, and features a fine, attractive black and white photograph of young Jacqueline. It was purchased by the consignor at Guernsey's Dec. 2005 auction, where it sold for $67,800-slightly more than Jack's passport fetched!
