William McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt: Two Inauguration Badges. This group offers two great display pieces, one an ornate jugate badge celebrating the inauguration of the 1900 Republicans McKinley and Roosevelt, and the other a showy badge featuring an image of McKinley and the text "McKinley & Hobart" and "Inauguration 1897." The 1897 badge measures 2.875" x 10". Back features a tag from the Whitehead and Hoag Co. Stained near the right flag. The 1901 badge measures 3.75" x 8". Stained at upper center and top of badge. Some discoloration of bows. Very minor accretion on button left of McKinley. The amount of detail, from the 1901 badge's sewn petals to the 1897's American flags, is very pleasing to the eye. Fringe on both is in wonderful condition.
