    Harry S Truman: The Legendary "Truman Eight-Ball" Button In Superb Condition

    One of the truly iconic political button rarities, it shows a picture of Harry behind the eight-ball. Long considered, along with the "60 Million Working" design, as one of the top varieties for this highly-collectible candidate. Heritage sold an example of the "60 Million Working" in August 2008 for $19,635.

    Only several examples of the "Truman Eight-Ball" are known, and if this is not the very best example, it is surely tied for that honor. This is a lithographed tin button, notoriously vulnerable to chipping and scratching of the surface. But the example, from the collection of former APIC president and dedicated Truman specialist, the late Geary Vlk, is as pristine as a litho button can be. Absolutely unimprovable condition, especially for such a great rarity. Sure to engender serious bidding from both Truman collectors and generalists alike. From the Geary Vlk Collection.
