Grover Cleveland and Benjamin Harrison: Tobacco Tag Presidential Poll Display.
11.5" x 13.5" mini-banner on glazed cotton, issued in conjunction with what may have been the first "Presidential Election Poll" ever conducted. It is titled "P. Lorillard & Co's 'Climax' Great Test or Trial Vote For President of the U. S.". Consumers of the product were asked to attach a Cleveland or Harrison tobacco tag to a entry form and send it in for tabulation, the results to be announced on or about October 10th. The banner has metal strips at top & bottom. The original entry form pad is attached with evidence some of them were used and submitted to company headquarters in Jersey City, New Jersey. Partial loop at top, some stains, tears, loss and wrinkles, but essentially intact. The tobacco tags themselves are relatively common and would make a nice "go-with" for the very rare display. Pictured in Arthur Schlesinger, Jr.'s Running for President: The Candidates and Their Images, vol. 1, page 403.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
