Grant & Wilson and Greeley & Brown: A Perfectly Matched Pair of the Large-size "Porthole" Ferrotype Jugates, in Unbelievably Pristine Condition. It would be nothing short of a crime to separate this pair, which have undoubtedly been together since 1872. Bold, choice ferro portraits are set into brass shell frames with full original silvering. Great high relief portraits on reverse.

Seasoned hobbyists know that this silvering had a tendency to wear or oxidize away very easily. The vast majority of originally-silvered brass shells we have encountered-from 1860 ferros to 1896 mechanical silver bugs-have retained very little if any of their silver. Undoubtedly the finest known examples of this sought-after variety, and as nice a pair of ferrotypes for any candidates as we have ever handled! Diameter 35mm, nearly silver-dollar size. From the Merrill C. Berman Collection.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
