    Description

George Washington: "Liberty Cap with Date" Inaugural Button. Albert WI-27, 33 mm silvered brass, original shank. This is listed under "Unauthenticated Specimens" in the 1976 edition of Albert's book. The design is engraved. While the button may have some connection to the French Revolution which, like Washington's inauguration, occurred in 1789, it appears to be an American product of the colonial period. Given the date, the liberty cap, size and beveled edge (matching the "Plain Roman" inaugural button), we feel it deserves a place in the canon of GW buttons. Outside of some dings and scratches in the upper left quadrant, it is in excellent condition. A very rare piece. From the Donald G. Partrick Collection.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
