George Washington: An Important Rose Cut Wine Glass Used By George and Martha Washington during the Presidency and Afterwards at Mount Vernon. This delicate treasure descended by Martha Washington's will to her granddaughter Eleanor Parke Lewis. It was sold, along with a number of Washington family relics, at a landmark 1891 auction held by Thomas Birch's and Sons, Philadelphia. It next surfaced in a 1950 auction at Parke-Bernet in New York, and has been privately held since then. A complete provenance accompanies the lot. It is in beautiful condition with a delightful display presence. Height 4".

Among the various categories of presidential "relics," wine glasses have always been among the most highly prized by collectors.
