Garfield & Arthur: Nice Sized Cloth Name Flag from the 1880 Campaign. A very nice item from the last election from which political flags typically command strong prices. Excellent condition overall. The reds are a bit faded, there is a small piece missing along the top edge above the stars, very trivial edge fraying along top and bottom, and a hint of trivial light water staining. However, as the photo shows this flag presents beautifully for display. Listed by Collins in Threads of History as #485 (in a smaller size), along with the Hancock & English mate (in similar size to the present example). The plate example is in the Smithsonian collection and will never be available for private purchase. 23.5" x 16.5".
