Description

VERY RARE AND IMPORTANT 1852 WINFIELD SCOTT BRASS SHELL PIN.

Sophisticated collectors know that, once you get past a handful of nationally-distributed token varieties, Scott is one of the very toughest of mid-19th century candidates, on a par with Polk and Cass (indeed, except for the fairly common Lundy's Lane variety, his ribbons are rarer than either!)  This is clearly an 1852 campaign item, not of Civil War vintage.  His younger, toga-clad civilian bust is much like those on 1852-17 and 1852-15.  Choice, pristine condition with original pin.  A very special opportunity for the advanced collector.
