Very Rare 1880 Garfield & Arthur Ferrotype Jugate Pin; A Beautiful Example. While the cardboard-picture Garfield & Arthur jugates are quite scarce and valuable, these ferrotype jugates in very fancy brass shell frames are truly rare. Over 30+ years, we have seen this variety perhaps five or six times, and its Hancock & English mate but twice. But for a couple of small defects, it is in virtually mint condition. The photos are somewhat dark, but this is definitely so made; every example we have ever seen has darker-than-normal tintype inserts. There is a small blemish on the right side of Garfield's chest, and a little very minor surface bubbling near the very bottom on the Arthur side. The frame is lustrous and pristine, with original pin. From the Joe Brown Collection. Measures 33mm x 45mm.
