Description
TAYLOR HORSE HEAD BACKNAME SLOGAN BUTTON. This unlisted button measures 23 mm across and is two-piece construction. The front has a horse's head facing left on a plain field (similar in design to that seen on colonial coinage of New Jersey) within a chased ornamental border. The back plate is inscribed "The Hero of Buena Vista". Most of the silvering has worn off the back and there are three small rust spots. Condition generally is quite nice, with just normal wear and aging.
