DescriptionRare Velvet-Border 1860 Lincoln & Hamlin Ferrotype in Pristine Condition. These velvet- bordered ferros are, of course, much rarer than the familiar brass-framed ones of similar size. But, given their fragile nature, it is particularly remarkable to find an example in this state. Leaving aside the question of the condition of the ferro portraits themselves, these are usually seen with fading or heavy wear on the velvet and the braided suspension loop at the top is often missing. This astounding example from the Joe Brown Collection is absolutely like the day it was made; surely no finer example of this type (and a Lincoln example, no less) could ever be found! Diameter 24mm.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.View More Testimonials
As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
