Jefferson Davis: Ferrotype Badge. 25 mm. (1") holed lapel badge with ferrotype portraits of "Davis" and "Beauregard" on either side. Likely issued after the fall of Fort Sumter and the outbreak of hostilities or after the Confederate victory at First Manassas. Ferrotype surfaces are smooth and glossy. Portraits, as typical, are somewhat dark, as made. Still, one of the nicer specimens you are likely to see.
