GEORGE WASHINGTON INAUGURAL SHANK BUTTON. Unlisted in Albert, Johnson or Sullivan-DeWitt. A 22 mm. shanked button of undetermined fabric (possibly silver-plated copper). The shank is embedded on a raised mound of metal, similar to the tombac style of buttons. The front is engraved with the slogan "Long Live The President" surrounding a circle enclosing the initials "GW". Similar in design to some of the accredited GW buttons, but likely done some years after-the-fact. The button is definitely of the period. We just cannot determine the age of the engraving, THEREFORE BEING SOLD UNATTRIBUTED. EXCELLENT condition.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
