DescriptionGeorge McClellan: Hand-Painted Ferrotype Badge. 1" x 1 1/4" gilt brass shell ferrotype badge for "M'Clellan". The frame is inscribed "E Pluribus Unum". The slogan and the flags are hand-painted red and blue. The reverse has a T-bar clasp. The portrait of McClellan is an early one, sometimes seen on patriotic badges produced in the 1861-1862 period. The ferrotype has a slight silvery sheen to it, especially in the background, and is well-preserved. This frame saw heavy use in the presidential election of 1864 so this may well be a campaign item, despite the portrait.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
