Description

Benjamin Harrison and Grover Cleveland: 1892 Studs. 7/8" copper on lead stud with portrait on Cleveland superimposed on a horse shoe with four-leaf clover and date 1892. Sold together with a unique 3/4" brass rebus stud that shows the "Harrison" beaver hat, a feather marked "Reid" tucked in the hatband (Whitelaw Reid succeeded Horace Greeley as the Editor of the "New York Tribune") and a racoon popping out of the hat. There also appears to be a cattail plant tucked under the hatband, as well (perhaps representing a "coattail" candidate or "Reed"?) A tip o' the hat to whoever designed this item!
