AN AMAZING COLLECTION OF 21 MATCHED PAIRS OF HARRISON AND CLEVELAND ITEMS FROM THE 1888 AND 1892 ELECTIONS. As shown in the photo, includes tokens, medals, studs, enameled pins, badges, bar pins and more! At the bottom are brass pillboxes for Harrison/Reid and Cleveland/Stevenson (1892). In the form of a stack of gold coins, with the candidates’ portraits on top and bottom! Note the ceramic "little brown jugs," with " Harrison and Morten" and "Cleveland and Thurman." Brass portrait match safes (Harrison missing hinged lid on bottom, Cleveland missing other half and lid, but still displays nicely). Don’t recall ever seeing the Cleveland mate to the bronze, shield-shaped Harrison-Reid stud, or the gilt white metal version of the Cleveland-Thurman with eagle hanger. One badge missing the pin on reverse, and the match safes imperfect as described above, but otherwise condition ranges from Excellent to Choice. At first we had intended to break this collection into smaller lots, but it is just too darned nice as it is to do that! You would work long and hard to put some thing like this collection, built over a 20 year period, together today!
