DescriptionAbraham Lincoln: Jumbo Ferrotype Badge. This is an example of Sullivan-DeWitt AL-1864-83. At 45 mm. in diameter, it is the largest of the 1864 ferrotypes. Perfect examples typically sell in the neighborhood of $4,000. This example has faults, including some chipping and loss, as shown, and waviness to the brass frame and ferrotype. It lacks the cardboard backing, apparently as made. Still, the portrait is extremely sharp with great contrast and no blistering or bubbling to the emulsion. The black marks that impact the face are fairly minimal.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
