Abraham Lincoln, George McClellan and John C. Frémont: A Stunning Pristine Matched Set of 1864 Ferrotypes. "Unimprovable " pretty well sums up the condition of this perfectly matched set for the 1864 tickets. Their large size and distinctive "Gault Frames" have made these collector favorites for years. Unfortunately, a high percentage of the surviving examples exhibit damage to the ferro surface. But in this case, all six tintype inserts and all three gilt brass shell frames are as nice as the day they were made. Examples that in baseball card parlance would be termed "blazers"!! The Frent's went through several upgrades in order to put this great set together. Diameter 25mm. Listed by Dewitt/Sullivan as AL-1864-94, MCC-1864-49 and JF-1864-7.
